More Interesting Things About Germany!

  • People are extremely interested in Obama's Health Care Plan
  • Most beds have only a comforter that is folded sideways when the bed is made
  • The lights are very dim so most use lamps
  • In sport class students do not wear t-shirts, shorts and tennis shoes but rather dance shoes, tank tops and athletic capris
  • Womens' bikes are made so that one can wear a full length skirt
  • Fruit trees are common
  • Open air markets are popular
  • Evangelical is the most common faith in this region (non-monotheistic religions are virtually unheard of)
  • House shoes are to be worn at all times
  • Left overs is a foreign concept
  • Toilet paper is very hard and not too absorbent
  • Scarfs are a must
  • People hate garlic as well as spices in general
  • Bakeries can be found at every corner
  • The dog can do no wrong
  • Speaking about a woman's age is not taboo
  • All are highly weight conscious
  • It is common to buy a new car every 2 years
  • The average school cafeteria is more like a resaurant where one can choose between a large variety of items

    Seems like we are encountering some of the same things. Everyone wants to talk about Obama's health care here in Spain. I went to some cathedrals with my family and they find it hard to understand what I am if I am not Catholic and not Protestant. Therefore I haven't even tried to explain Unitarian Universalism. Hope all is well.
